Iowa Agriculture Awareness Coalition
IAAC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education of Iowa's youth by providing quality, researched, and free educational resources to Iowa's educators. IAAC's projects help students gain awareness of agriculture’s important role in our daily lives and economy so they become citizens who support wise national and state agricultural programs, and who are environmentally responsible. The photo below of the United States Capital ceiling could be one example of agriculture woven with politics-who makes our budgets?
Statewide, 393,636* jobs are related to agriculture. That means about 1 in every 4-6 jobs in Iowa is Ag related! All students need to learn about agriculture's role to be prepared for many careers or to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. We all eat and are dependent upon transportation fuels.
